I'm planning a trip. Where do I start?
A points trip has a few moving parts: the flight, the hotel, the paperwork. Tell us where and when you're going and we'll open each tool for your trip, in the order most people need them.
Common questions
How far ahead should I book an award flight?
Most airlines open award seats about 330 to 360 days before departure (the Award Booking Guide has each one's window), and the cheapest seats on popular routes often go early. Last-minute seats do appear, but if your dates are fixed, start looking as soon as seats open.
Should I book the flight or the hotel first?
Usually the flight: award seats are scarcer than hotel rooms, and many hotel bookings can be cancelled for free. Find a seat, then book a refundable room around it.
Do I need a visa?
It depends on your passport and where you're going. Many trips need no visa but do need an online travel authorization, such as the UK ETA or the US ESTA, bought before you fly. AwardHack's Visa Checker shows the rule for your passport and destination.
