# Transfer Bonus Tracker: Every Live Credit Card Points Transfer Bonus, Plus 9 Years of History

## The same points can buy 25% to 100% more miles if you time it right

Chase, Amex, Citi, Capital One, Bilt and Rove regularly run **transfer
bonuses**: for a few weeks, points you move to a specific airline or hotel
program arrive with extra miles on top. A 30% bonus turns 60,000 points
into 78,000 miles. Do nothing different, book the same award, and you need
to transfer fewer points.

The catch is that bonuses come and go constantly, they're spread across
half a dozen banks, and most last about a month. The Transfer Bonus Tracker
puts every live bonus in one place, shows you when each pair last had a
bonus, and keeps a searchable history of nearly 500 bonuses going back to
2017.

---

## How to use the Transfer Bonus Tracker

1. **Scan "Active Bonuses."** Every bonus running today appears as a card
showing the airline or hotel program, the bank or points program it
comes from, and the bonus rate. Bonuses that have been announced but
haven't started yet are marked **Soon** and show their start date.

2. **Check the clock.** Each live card shows its end date and a status:
**Live**, **Ends in N days** (5 days or fewer), **Ends Tomorrow** or
**Ends Today**. If you were planning a transfer anyway, the ones about to
end are the ones to act on first.

3. **See how often this bonus comes around.** Under the bonus rate, each
card shows when that same bank and program pair last had a bonus, for
example "Last: Jun 2026". If the previous bonus ended 18 or more months
earlier, the card is flagged **Rare**, and if the pair has never had a
bonus before, it's flagged **First Time**. A rare or first-time bonus is
a stronger reason to act than one that comes back every few months.

4. **Search the history.** Below the live cards, the "Inactive Bonuses"
table lists every past bonus, newest first, with the points program,
bonus rate, loyalty program, start date and end date. Type a program
name, a rate like "40%" or a year into the search box, and choose to
   show 10, 50, 100 or all rows.

5. **Turn on free email alerts.** Sign in and switch on **Transfer Bonus
Alerts**. You'll get an email when a new bonus is added to the tracker,
plus a weekly email every Friday listing bonuses that end within the
next 14 days. Alerts are free and don't require Pro.

> **Tip:** The tracker tells you a bonus exists. To see exactly how many
> miles your transfer produces with the bonus applied, enter the pair and
> amount in the [Transfer Tool](/tools/transferTool), which adds any active
> bonus to the total automatically.

## What was live on October 13, 2026

As a snapshot of a typical day, here's what the tracker showed on
October 13, 2026: 11 live bonuses from 5 points programs.

| From | To | Bonus | Ends |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Amex Membership Rewards | Hilton Honors | 30% | Oct 14, 2026 |
| Chase Ultimate Rewards | Marriott Bonvoy | 70% | Oct 15, 2026 |
| Citi ThankYou Rewards | Japan Airlines Mileage Bank | 30% | Oct 24, 2026 |
| Citi ThankYou Rewards | Avianca LifeMiles | 25% | Oct 24, 2026 |
| Amex Membership Rewards | Aeromexico Rewards | 20% | Oct 30, 2026 |
| Amex Membership Rewards | Air France-KLM Flying Blue | 25% | Oct 31, 2026 |
| Capital One Miles | British Airways Avios | 20% | Oct 31, 2026 |
| Citi ThankYou Rewards | Qatar Airways Privilege Club | Up to 35% | Oct 31, 2026 |
| Rove Miles | Japan Airlines Mileage Bank | 50% | Oct 31, 2026 |
| Rove Miles | Air France-KLM Flying Blue | 40% | Oct 31, 2026 |
| Rove Miles | Qatar Airways Privilege Club | Up to 35% | Oct 31, 2026 |

Some were brand new. Citi to Japan Airlines was a **first-time** bonus:
Japan Airlines launched as a Citi partner on September 20, 2026, with the
30% bonus attached. Others were anything but rare: Amex to Hilton had run
21 times before this one, and Citi to Avianca 18 times.

The Qatar bonuses are tiered. According to the published terms, the bonus
is 15% on transfers under 50,000 Avios, 25% from 50,000 to 99,999, and 35%
only on a single transfer of 100,000 or more. "Up to" always means read the
fine print.

## Transfer bonus facts: what nearly 500 bonuses tell us

These figures come from the tracker's history, which starts in July 2017,
as of October 13, 2026.

### Bonuses are getting more frequent

| Year | Bonuses recorded |
| --- | --- |
| 2022 | 51 |
| 2023 | 61 |
| 2024 | 62 |
| 2025 | 81 |
| 2026 (to Oct 13) | 74 |

In the 12 months to October 13, 2026 the tracker recorded **88 bonuses**,
about 7 a month. In 2025, at least one bank transfer bonus was live on
**349 of 365 days**, and on an average day about 5 were running at once.
There is almost always something on.

### Which banks run the most bonuses

| Points program | Bonuses in the last 12 months | Most frequent bonus partners (all-time) |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Chase Ultimate Rewards | 23 | Marriott, IHG, Virgin Atlantic |
| Amex Membership Rewards | 16 | Hilton, Avianca LifeMiles, Marriott |
| Citi ThankYou Rewards | 15 | Avianca LifeMiles, Qatar Airways, Flying Blue |
| Bilt | 11 | Virgin Atlantic, Hilton, British Airways |
| Capital One Miles | 10 | Avianca LifeMiles, Flying Blue, British Airways |
| Rove Miles | 9 | Flying Blue, then a different airline almost every month |

Amex has the longest track record, with more than 150 bonuses since 2017,
but Chase ran the most in 2025 and has again so far in 2026. Rove is the
newcomer: its first bonus in the tracker is from September 2025, and it
has run 11 since, several at 40% to 50%.

### Most airline bonuses are 20% to 30%

Across all bank bonuses, the three most common sizes are **30%**, **25%**
and **20%**. Leaving out Bilt (see below), the median bonus to an airline
is **25%**, and about **73%** of airline bonuses fall between 20% and 30%.
Airline bonuses above 40% are rare: outside Bilt's Rent Day promotions,
only 10 in the whole history, and half of those came from Rove and Citi
(to Turkish, Japan Airlines and Qantas) since 2024.

So a 30% airline bonus is a good, normal bonus. A 40% or 50% airline bonus
is unusual. A 15% bonus is on the low side.

### Hotel bonuses are bigger, because hotel points are worth less

Bank bonuses to hotel programs have a median of **33%**, and the biggest
are much larger:

- **Chase to IHG** has had 13 bonuses since 2020, ranging from 50% to
100%. It hit **100%** twice: August 2025 and July 2026.
- **Chase to Marriott Bonvoy** has had 16 bonuses since 2021, from 40% to
70%. Eight of them were exactly 50%.
- **Amex to Hilton** has had 22 bonuses since 2017, the most of any pair,
  usually 20% to 40%.

The size of the percentage doesn't tell you whether the bonus is worth
using. More on that in the worked example below.

### Some bonuses repeat almost exactly

A few pairs come back again and again at the same rate:

| Pair | Bonuses | Usual rate |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Amex to Avianca LifeMiles | 18 | 15% (17 of 18 times) |
| Citi to Avianca LifeMiles | 19 | 25% (16 of 19 times) |
| Amex to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club | 13 | 30% (11 of 13 times, 40% twice) |
| Chase to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club | 13 | 30% (9 of 13 times) |

If one of these is live and you need those miles soon, don't wait for a
bigger one: the history says it won't come. The
[Transfer Bonus Predictor](/tools/transfer-bonus-predictor) estimates
when each pair is likely to return.

### Bilt bonuses are one-day events

Of Bilt's 35 bonuses in the tracker, **31 lasted a single day**. Those
are Bilt's Rent Day promotions on the 1st of the month, and the headline
rate depends on your Bilt status. On October 1, 2026, for example, the
Hilton bonus ranged from 75% for Blue members to 175% for Platinum, and up
to 200% for Platinum members who paid extra in Bilt Cash, with a cap of
100,000 points transferred. The tracker lists these at the top rate ("Up
to 200%"), so check what your own status gets before you count on it.

### Most bonuses last about a month

The median bonus lasts **31 days**, and most run between about a week and
two months: usually enough time to find award space before you transfer.

### Fall is the busiest season

September is the single busiest month for new bonuses (73 started in a
September), and from 2020 to 2025 about **40% of all bonuses started in
September, October or November**. January is the quietest month, with
only 13 bonuses ever starting in a January.

### Some programs never get bonuses

The tracker has **no record, since 2017,** of a bonus from Chase to United
MileagePlus or World of Hyatt, from Amex to Delta SkyMiles, or from Citi to
American Airlines AAdvantage. If you're saving for a United, Delta,
American or Hyatt award, don't hold your points waiting for a bank bonus.
(Hotel programs have occasionally run their own bonuses on transfers to
United and American, which the tracker does include.)

### New partners often launch with a bonus

When a bank adds a partner, it frequently opens with a bonus. In 2026:
Rove launched Japan Airlines in March with a 50% bonus, Frontier in July
with 25%, and Copa in September with 40%. Citi launched Japan Airlines in
September with 30%. If a new partner is announced for a program you use,
watch for a launch bonus.

## Worked example: a 70% bonus that isn't worth it, and a 25% bonus that is

**1. Chase to Marriott at 70%.** On October 13, 2026, Chase was offering a
70% bonus to Marriott Bonvoy. 1,000 Chase points become **1,700 Marriott
points**. That sounds great, but the AwardHack
[Points Valuator](/tools/pointsvalue) currently values Chase points at
about 2.0 cents each and Marriott points at about 0.93 cents. So:

- 1,000 Chase points kept as Chase points: worth about **$20.00**
- Those points sent to Marriott with the bonus: 1,700 x 0.93 cents, about
  **$15.81**

Even with 70% extra, you'd need to get about 1.18 cents per Marriott point
just to break even with keeping the Chase points.

**2. Amex to Flying Blue at 25%.** The same day, Amex was offering 25% to
Air France-KLM Flying Blue. 1,000 Amex points become **1,250 Flying Blue
miles**. At AwardHack's current valuation of about 2.16 cents per Flying
Blue mile, that's roughly **$27.00** of value from points valued at about
$19.90.

The smaller bonus is the better deal, because the destination points are
worth more. Always compare value, not just the percentage. And either way,
only transfer for an award you've already found.

## Tips for using transfer bonuses

**Find the award first.** Transfers are one-way. Confirm the seat or room
is available before moving points, bonus or not. The
[Award Flight Pricer](/award-charts) shows how many miles each program
charges for your route.

**Check that the bonus applies to your card.** Some bonuses are limited
to certain cards or account types, and some banks transfer at lower ratios
from no-annual-fee cards. Citi's Japan Airlines bonus, for example, gives
1,300 miles per 1,000 points on annual-fee cards but less on no-fee cards.

**Read "up to" carefully.** Tiered bonuses depend on transfer size (Qatar)
or status (Bilt). Work out the rate you'll actually get.

**Watch the bonus posting time.** Base miles often post instantly while
bonus miles can take days or weeks, so don't count on the bonus miles to
book a seat today.

---

## What the Transfer Bonus Tracker doesn't do

- **Targeted offers aren't labeled.** Some bonuses in the history were
targeted, meaning only some cardholders saw them in their account. The
tracker doesn't mark which ones, so if a bonus isn't showing on your
bank's transfer page, it may not be offered to you.
- **No partner-to-partner math.** It shows the bonus rate, not the base
transfer ratio. Use the [Transfer Tool](/tools/transferTool) to see the
ratio and the miles you'll actually receive.
- **No predictions.** The tracker shows what's live and what happened.
For an estimate of when a bonus is likely to return, use the
  [Transfer Bonus Predictor](/tools/transfer-bonus-predictor).
- **Rates are the headline rate.** Tiered bonuses are listed at their top
tier. Your rate may be lower.
- **Confirm with your bank.** Bonuses occasionally end early or change.
Check your bank's transfer page before you submit.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is a transfer bonus?

A transfer bonus is a limited-time promotion where a bank or points program
adds extra miles or points when you transfer to a specific airline or hotel
partner. With a 30% bonus, transferring 50,000 points gives you 65,000
miles instead of 50,000.

### How often do transfer bonuses happen?

Constantly. AwardHack's tracker recorded 88 transfer bonuses in the 12
months to October 2026, about 7 a month. In 2025 at least one bank bonus
was live on 349 of 365 days.

### How long do transfer bonuses last?

The median bonus lasts about a month (31 days). Most run between one week
and two months. Bilt's Rent Day bonuses are the exception: almost all of
them last a single day, on the 1st of the month.

### What is a good transfer bonus percentage?

For airlines, 30% is a good, typical bonus and 40% or more is unusual: the
median airline bonus is 25%, and about three-quarters fall between 20% and
30%. Hotel bonuses run larger (Chase to IHG has reached 100%) because hotel
points are worth less each, so judge a hotel bonus by value, not
percentage.

### Which bank has the most transfer bonuses?

In the 12 months to October 2026, Chase ran the most (23), followed by Amex
(16), Citi (15), Bilt (11), Capital One (10) and Rove (9). Over the full
history since 2017, Amex has run the most, with more than 150.

### Are there transfer bonuses to United, Delta, American Airlines or Hyatt?

Not from the banks that partner with them, in the tracker's history since
2017. There's no record of a Chase bonus to United or World of Hyatt, an
Amex bonus to Delta or a Citi bonus to American Airlines. Marriott, Wyndham
and Choice have occasionally run bonuses on hotel-point transfers to United.

### Can I get an alert when a new transfer bonus starts?

Yes, for free. Sign in on the Transfer Bonus Tracker and turn on Transfer
Bonus Alerts. You'll get an email when a new bonus is added, plus a weekly
Friday email listing bonuses that end within 14 days.

### Should I transfer points just because there's a bonus?

No. Transfers can't be undone, and points sitting in an airline or hotel
account are exposed to devaluation. Use a bonus when you already have an
award in mind, and check the value: a 70% bonus to a low-value hotel
program can be worth less than a 25% bonus to a strong airline program.

---

## The bottom line

Transfer bonuses are frequent and predictable enough that you rarely need
to pay full price in points. Check the Transfer Bonus Tracker before any
transfer, turn on free alerts so you hear about new bonuses, and compare
value, not just the percentage. If nothing's live for the program you
need, the [Transfer Bonus Predictor](/tools/transfer-bonus-predictor)
shows when it's likely to return.
