# Amex Resy Credit Finder: Find Resy and Tock Restaurants (and Gift Cards) That Use Your Dining Credit

## The Resy credit is easy to waste

The Amex Platinum gives you up to **$100 every quarter** to spend at Resy
restaurants. That sounds simple until you notice it's really four separate
$100 deadlines a year. Miss one, and that $100 is gone. It doesn't roll
over.

Most people lose it the same way: the quarter is ending, there's no free
night for a nice dinner, and nothing nearby seems to qualify.

The Resy Credit Finder fixes the "where can I use it?" part. It maps
**16,000+ Resy and Tock restaurants** across the U.S. and flags the
**2,600+ that sell gift cards online**, so you can find a place near you,
or buy a gift card before the deadline and eat there later.

## Which cards have a Resy credit?

Six Amex cards come with a recurring Resy credit. Each one requires
enrollment in your Amex account before you spend, and each one resets on
its own schedule:

| Card | Credit | Resets | Per year |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Amex Platinum | Up to $100 | Quarterly | Up to $400 |
| Amex Gold | Up to $50 | Twice a year | Up to $100 |
| Delta SkyMiles Reserve (personal and business) | Up to $20 | Monthly | Up to $240 |
| Delta SkyMiles Platinum (personal and business) | Up to $10 | Monthly | Up to $120 |

The Platinum's quarters are calendar quarters: January to March, April to
June, July to September and October to December. The Gold's two halves
are January to June and July to December.

If you hold more than one of these cards, each credit is separate. A
Platinum, a Gold and a Delta Reserve together add up to as much as **$740
a year** in Resy credits, which is a lot of value to lose to bad timing.

> **Tip:** You can track every one of these credits, and see what's left
> before each deadline, with the [Benefits Tracker](/trackers/benefits-tracker).

## What changed in 2026: the eligibility badge and Tock

Two rule changes matter if you used this credit in past years.

**The badge is now the rule.** Starting August 1, 2026, Amex's terms say a
restaurant must be marked as eligible for the Resy Credit on the Resy
website or app **at the time of purchase**. In practice, that means
looking for the **"Resy Credit eligible" badge** on the restaurant's Resy
page before you pay. A restaurant simply being on Resy is no longer
enough.

**Select Tock restaurants now count.** American Express bought Tock in
2024 and folded it into Resy. Since September 15, 2026, Resy credits work
at select Tock venues, with more being added over time. "Select" is the
key word: many Tock listings on Resy are not eligible. Some Tock listings
send you to Tock to book; in that case, look for a "Qualifies for Resy
Credit" note on the Tock page.

The Resy Credit Finder includes both networks, so you can see Resy and
Tock restaurants side by side.

## How to use the Resy Credit Finder

1. **Start in Map View.** Every restaurant is a dot. **Green** dots sell
gift cards online, **red** dots are Resy restaurants and **blue** dots
are Tock venues. Zoom into your city and clusters break apart into
   individual restaurants.

2. **Filter the map.** Tick **Gift Cards Only** to hide everything that
doesn't sell gift cards online. Use the **Resy** and **Tock**
checkboxes to show one network or both.

3. **Switch to Search View to search by name or place.** Type a
restaurant name, city, neighborhood, cuisine or address. Results show
the restaurant's rating, cuisine, neighborhood and typical price per
person where available. Your search also applies when you switch back
   to the map.

4. **Open a restaurant for details.** Each listing shows a **Resy Credit
Eligible** label when our data marks it as eligible, plus the phone
number, website, directions in Google Maps and a link to book on Resy
   or Tock.

5. **Click "Purchase Gift Card."** For restaurants that sell gift cards
online, this opens the restaurant's own gift card page. You'll see a
quick reminder to confirm it's the right restaurant first, because
gift card links are curated by hand and can go stale.

On a large screen, the map also has a **Properties in View** panel that
lists every restaurant in the area you're looking at, so you can browse
a neighborhood without clicking dots one at a time.

## The gift card strategy, and how reliable it is

The idea is simple: instead of booking a dinner before the quarter ends,
you buy a gift card online from an eligible restaurant with your Platinum
card. If the purchase triggers the credit, you get $100 back on your
statement, and you use the gift card whenever you actually want to eat
there.

Here's the honest version of how well that works:

- **Amex's terms don't promise it.** The benefit terms say gift cards
bought at restaurants **may not** receive the statement credit,
especially when a third party processes the transaction.
- **Many cardholders report it works anyway.** Data points shared on
popular points blogs and forums generally show online gift card
purchases made through a restaurant's own ordering page triggering the
credit. Results vary by restaurant, though, and nobody can guarantee it.
- **Every gift card link in our data goes to the restaurant's Toast
ordering page.** Toast is the payment system the restaurant itself uses,
so the charge typically shows up under the restaurant's name. That's
the setup most data points describe, but it's still not a guarantee.

So treat gift cards as a strong option, not a sure thing, and give
yourself time to recover if one doesn't work. Amex says credits can take
**up to 8 weeks** to post, though they often post much faster. If you buy
on the last day of the quarter and it doesn't trigger, that quarter is
gone.

> **Best practice:** Buy early in the quarter, not on the last day.
> Check that the restaurant shows the "Resy Credit eligible" badge on
> Resy the day you buy, and keep your receipt.

---

## A worked example: using two quarters on one great dinner

Say you have an Amex Platinum and live in Charleston, South Carolina. Our
data has **142 Resy and Tock restaurants** in Charleston, and **38 of
them sell gift cards online**.

**October 2026 (Q4):** You don't have a dinner planned this quarter. You
open the finder, tick Gift Cards Only, pick a restaurant you'd actually
go to and confirm its Resy page shows the eligibility badge. You buy a
**$100 gift card** online with your Platinum. A few days later, the $100
Q4 credit posts.

**February 2027 (Q1):** You go to that restaurant for a special dinner.
The bill comes to **$260**. You pay with:

- **$100 on your Platinum**, which triggers the Q1 credit
- **$100 from the gift card** you bought in October
- **$60 on any other card**

You ate a $260 dinner and paid **$60** out of pocket, because two quarters
of credits went to the same meal. Restaurants generally accept split
payments, but ask your server before you hand over three cards.

The same idea works for the Gold's $50 half-year credits. For the Delta
cards' $10 or $20 monthly credits, gift cards are less practical, since
some restaurants set a minimum gift card amount higher than the monthly
credit.

## What the data shows

These numbers come straight from the restaurant data behind the tool.

**16,096 restaurants and venues** in total: 11,070 on Resy and 5,073 on
Tock (47 are on both). They cover **all 50 states**, plus Washington,
D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

**2,639 sell gift cards online**, about 16% of the total. Almost all of
them (2,611) are Resy restaurants. Only **40 Tock venues** in our data
sell gift cards online, so if gift cards are your plan, focus on Resy.

**Gift cards are concentrated in big cities**, but some smaller markets
punch above their weight:

| City | Restaurants | Sell gift cards online |
| --- | --- | --- |
| New York (Manhattan) | 1,854 | 263 |
| Brooklyn | 580 | 105 |
| Washington, D.C. | 346 | 94 |
| Chicago | 498 | 75 |
| Philadelphia | 230 | 68 |
| Los Angeles | 328 | 64 |
| San Francisco | 211 | 41 |
| Charleston, S.C. | 142 | 38 |
| Atlanta | 187 | 34 |
| Boston | 116 | 33 |

Philadelphia (about 30%), Charleston (27%) and Washington, D.C. (27%) all
have a much higher share of gift card sellers than the national average.

**Tock adds a lot of wineries.** "Winery" is the third most common
category in the data, with **1,027 venues**, behind American (2,527) and
Italian (1,447). None of the wineries in our data sell gift cards online,
but if you're visiting wine country, a tasting at an eligible Tock winery
is another way to use the credit.

**Not every Resy restaurant is eligible.** Of the 11,070 Resy
restaurants in our data, 10,672 were marked credit eligible at our last
update and **398 were not**. That's why the badge check matters.

---

## Tips for never losing a quarter again

**Set a reminder for the first week of each quarter.** January, April,
July and October. Early is better than late, especially with gift cards.

**Pick gift cards you'll actually use.** A $100 gift card to a restaurant
across the country isn't free money. Choose a place you'll visit, ideally
one with a long gift card expiration or several locations.

**Authorized users don't add more credit.** The Platinum credit is capped at $100 per
quarter for your account, not per card. Putting a second $100 on an
authorized user's Platinum card in the same quarter won't earn a second
credit.

**Check the badge, not your memory.** A restaurant that worked last year
may not be eligible today. Thirty seconds on Resy before you pay avoids
the most common mistake.

---

## What the Resy Credit Finder doesn't do

- **It doesn't confirm live eligibility.** The "Resy Credit Eligible"
label reflects our data at its last update. Tock venues in our data
don't carry an eligibility label at all. Always check the badge on Resy
  or Tock before you pay.
- **It can't guarantee a gift card triggers the credit.** That depends on
how the restaurant's purchase is processed, and Amex's terms leave room
  to deny it.
- **It doesn't book tables.** Use the Resy or Tock links on each listing
  to reserve.
- **Gift card links are curated by hand.** Restaurants change ordering
pages, close or stop selling gift cards. Confirm you're on the right
  restaurant's page before you pay.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does buying a gift card count toward the Amex Resy credit?

Often, but not always. Amex's terms say gift cards bought at restaurants
may not receive the credit, especially if a third party processes the
sale. Many cardholders report that online gift cards bought through the
restaurant's own ordering page do trigger it. Buy early in the quarter so
you have time to try another option if it doesn't post.

### Can I use my Amex Resy credit at Tock restaurants?

Yes, at select Tock restaurants since September 15, 2026. Only Tock
venues showing the "Resy Credit eligible" badge on Resy (or a "Qualifies
for Resy Credit" note on Tock) count. Many Tock listings are not
eligible.

### How much is the Amex Platinum Resy credit?

Up to $100 per calendar quarter, for up to $400 a year. You must enroll
in your Amex account first, and unused credit doesn't roll over to the
next quarter.

### Do I need a reservation to use the Resy credit?

No. You need to pay with your enrolled card at an eligible U.S.
restaurant listed on Resy. Walk-ins and takeout paid directly to the
restaurant count, and online gift card purchases often do too.

### How long does the Resy credit take to post?

Amex says up to 8 weeks. In practice, many cardholders see it within a
few days.

### How do I know if a restaurant is eligible for the Resy credit?

Look for the "Resy Credit eligible" badge on the restaurant's page in
the Resy app or on Resy.com at the time you pay. Since August 1, 2026,
that badge is what Amex's terms rely on.

### Which restaurants sell gift cards that work with the Resy credit?

Our data includes 2,639 Resy and Tock restaurants that sell gift cards
online. Turn on the Gift Cards Only filter in the Resy Credit Finder to
see the ones near you, then confirm the eligibility badge on Resy before
you buy.

### Does the Amex Gold have a Resy credit?

Yes. The Amex Gold gives up to $50 in Resy credits from January to June
and another $50 from July to December, for up to $100 a year. Enrollment
is required.

---

## The bottom line

The Resy credit is worth up to $400 a year on the Platinum, but only if
you use it every quarter. The Resy Credit Finder shows you every Resy and
Tock restaurant near you and the 2,600+ that sell gift cards online, so
you can use the credit on your own schedule. Check the eligibility badge,
buy early, and track what's left in your [dashboard](/dashboard).
