# Hilton Aspire Resort Credit Map: Every Hotel Where the $400 Credit Works

## The short answer

The Hilton Honors American Express Aspire card gives you **up to $200 back
from January to June and another $200 from July to December** when you pay
a participating Hilton resort directly with the card. That's up to $400 a
year toward a card with a $550 annual fee.

The credit only works at the resorts on Hilton's eligible list, and that
list is long and hard to browse. The Hilton Resort Credit Map puts **all
327 participating resorts in 51 countries** on one free map, with each
resort's typical nightly price, guest rating and a 12-month price calendar.

## How the Hilton resort credit works

These are the rules on Hilton's
[resort credit page](https://www.hilton.com/en/p/hilton-honors/resort-credit-eligible-hotels/):

| Rule | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| Amount | Up to $200 in statement credits each half of the year, up to $400 a calendar year |
| Credit periods | January 1 to June 30, and July 1 to December 31 |
| What counts | Purchases made directly with a participating Hilton resort: your room rate, plus restaurant, spa and other charges billed to your room |
| What doesn't count | Advance Purchase and non-refundable rates, Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties, and purchases not identified as made with the resort (an outlet that bills separately, a third-party booking) |
| Who can use it | The Basic and Additional Card Members on the account, but the account gets $400 a year in total |
| When it posts | Allow 8 to 12 weeks after the purchase is charged |

What that means in practice:

- **Book directly with Hilton** (hilton.com, the Hilton Honors app or the
resort) at a standard, pay-at-the-hotel rate, then pay the bill at
checkout with your Aspire card. Rooms booked through Amex Travel,
Expedia or another site are charged by that site, not the resort.
- **Skip Advance Purchase rates.** They're often the cheapest rate on
hilton.com, but Hilton's terms exclude them.
- **Charge incidentals to your room.** A dinner at the resort's
restaurant counts when it's billed to your room and paid with the card
at checkout. Paying at the restaurant itself may not, if it bills as a
  separate business.
- **Don't wait for the last week of June or December.** The credit
follows the date the resort charges your card, which is usually
checkout. A stay that checks out on July 2 lands in the July–December
  period.

## How to use the Hilton Resort Credit Map

1. **Search for a destination.** Type a resort name, brand, city, state,
country or region ("Hawaii," "Mexico," "Asia Pacific"). The map
   zooms to the matching resorts.

2. **Filter by brand or price.** Open **Filters** to pick brands like
Waldorf Astoria, Conrad or Curio Collection, set a nightly price range
or choose a minimum star rating.

3. **Hide the vacation clubs if you want a hotel.** 58 of the resorts are
Hilton Grand Vacations properties: villas and suites with kitchens,
often with longer minimum stays. One checkbox hides them.

4. **Sign in to see prices.** With a free AwardHack account, every resort
shows its typical nightly price and its cheapest night in the next
12 months, and you can **Sort** by either.

5. **Pick your dates (Pro).** Choose check-in and check-out dates and the
map prices every resort for that stay, so you can see which ones the
   $200 credit covers.

6. **Open a resort's price calendar.** Every resort has its own page with
a 12-month calendar of nightly prices, its cheapest month and a
   **Book on Hilton** link.

> **Tip:** Your search and filters are saved in the URL. Use **Map**,
> **List** or **Table** view, and **Share** sends someone exactly what
> you're looking at.

## What the data says about the eligible resorts

These numbers come from the data behind the map. Prices are nightly room
rates before taxes and fees, and change daily.

**The US has almost half of them.** 161 of the 327 resorts are in the
United States: Florida has 51, Hawaii and California 18 each, Arizona 16,
Nevada 12 and South Carolina 10. Outside the US, China (13), Mexico (12),
the United Arab Emirates (11), Greece (9) and Japan (9) have the most.

**It's not only luxury brands.** Hilton Hotels & Resorts has the most
eligible properties (112), followed by Hilton Grand Vacations (58), Curio
Collection (52) and DoubleTree (39). Waldorf Astoria (15), Conrad (15) and
LXR (13) are the high end.

**A $200 credit covers a night at about a third of them.** The typical
nightly price across all eligible resorts is **$257**. At **106 resorts**
it's $200 or less, so one half-year's credit pays for a full night, and
206 resorts have at least one night at $200 or less in the next 12 months.

Typical nightly price by brand:

| Brand | Resorts | Typical night |
| --- | --- | --- |
| DoubleTree by Hilton | 39 | $189 |
| Hilton Grand Vacations | 58 | $199 |
| Hilton Hotels & Resorts | 112 | $233 |
| Embassy Suites by Hilton | 14 | $260 |
| Curio Collection by Hilton | 52 | $358 |
| Conrad Hotels & Resorts | 15 | $494 |
| Waldorf Astoria | 15 | $637 |
| LXR Hotels & Resorts | 13 | $744 |

**The most expensive resorts are where the credit matters least.** A
typical night at Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi is over $3,700, so
$200 barely dents it. At the cheapest resorts on the list, like Hilton
Hangzhou Qiandao Lake, DoubleTree Resort Penang and Hilton Vacation Club
Ocean Beach Club in Virginia Beach, it can cover two nights.

**The resorts rate well.** 305 have a guest rating, with a median of
8.7 out of 10, and 118 are 5-star properties.

---

## Worked example: getting the full $400

Say you hold the Aspire card and want to use both halves of the credit.

| Stay | When | Typical price | Credit | You pay |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 1 night at DoubleTree by Hilton Golf Resort Palm Springs | March | $155 a night, about $180 with taxes | $200 (January–June) | $0, with about $20 left for dinner charged to the room |
| 2 nights at Hilton Waikiki Beach | October | $196 a night, about $460 with taxes | $200 (July–December) | about $260 |

Two short stays turn $400 of credit into real savings. The credit has no
minimum stay, so a single night works. Hawaii is one of the pricier places
to use it: the typical night across the 18 eligible Hawaii resorts is $340,
and Hilton Waikiki Beach is one of the cheapest. If you'd rather use it on one
splurge, a Waldorf Astoria or Conrad stay uses the $200 just as well,
but it covers a much smaller share of the bill.

**Stack it with Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts.** 37 of the eligible resorts
are also in Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts, mostly Waldorf Astoria, Conrad and
LXR, and 49 more are in The Hotel Collection. If you also hold the Amex
Platinum, you can book the room through Amex Travel for the FHR perks and
the Platinum hotel credit, then pay your room charges (dinner, spa) at
checkout with the Aspire card. The room won't count toward the Hilton
credit, since Amex Travel charges it, but the resort's own charges can.
The [Amex Hotel Map](/tools/amex-tools/amex-hotel-map) shows which
resorts are in FHR.

---

## Before you book: checklist

- **Confirm the resort is on the map.** Hilton updates its list, and the
map's **Recent changes** button shows resorts added or removed since the
  last refresh.
- **Book directly with Hilton** at a flexible rate, not Advance Purchase or
  non-refundable.
- **Pay at checkout with your Aspire card**, with incidentals charged to
  your room.
- **Check which half of the year the charge falls in.** It's the checkout
date that counts, not the booking date.
- **Track what you've used.** The
[Benefits Tracker](/trackers/benefits-tracker) tracks the resort credit
along with the card's other credits.

---

## What the Hilton Resort Credit Map doesn't do

- **It doesn't book anything.** Each resort's page links to Hilton, where
  you book.
- **Prices are indicative.** They're nightly room rates before taxes,
resort fees and other fees, and Hilton's own rate on your dates may
  differ.
- **It can't promise the credit.** Whether a charge triggers it is up to
American Express and how the resort bills. Hilton's terms are the final
  word.

## Frequently asked questions

### Which hotels are eligible for the Hilton Aspire resort credit?

327 Hilton resorts in 51 countries, across 12 brands: Hilton Hotels &
Resorts, Hilton Grand Vacations, Curio Collection, DoubleTree, Waldorf
Astoria, Conrad, Embassy Suites, LXR, Signia, Tapestry Collection, Hampton
and Homewood Suites. Only resorts on Hilton's eligible list count, not
every Hilton hotel. The Hilton Resort Credit Map shows all of them.

### How much is the Hilton Aspire resort credit?

Up to $200 in statement credits from January to June and up to $200 from
July to December, for up to $400 a calendar year. The credit doesn't roll
over, so an unused half-year is lost.

### Do Advance Purchase rates count toward the Hilton resort credit?

No. Hilton's terms say Advance Purchase and non-refundable rates aren't
eligible. Book a standard rate directly with Hilton and pay the resort with
your Aspire card at checkout.

### Do restaurant and spa charges count?

Yes, when they're charged to your room and you pay the bill with your
Aspire card. A purchase that isn't identified as made with the resort, such
as an outlet that bills separately, may not count.

### Can I use the resort credit at Hilton Grand Vacations properties?

Yes. 58 Hilton Grand Vacations and Hilton Vacation Club resorts are on the
eligible list. They're villas and suites rather than hotel rooms, and some
have minimum stays.

### Does a booking through Amex Travel or Expedia count?

No. The purchase has to be made directly with the participating resort.
Bookings through Amex Travel, Expedia or other sites are charged by that
site.

### How long does the Hilton resort credit take to post?

Hilton says to allow 8 to 12 weeks after the eligible purchase is charged.

### Can authorized users use the resort credit?

Yes. Purchases by both the Basic and Additional Card Members count, but the
whole account gets up to $400 a year in total.

---

## The bottom line

At $200 every six months, the resort credit is one of the easiest ways to
earn back the Aspire card's $550 fee, if you know where it works. The
Hilton Resort Credit Map shows every eligible resort, what a night there
typically costs and which stays the credit covers, so both halves of the
year get used.
